Opening Theme for The View on ABC
Emmy winning daytime talk show, The View, was in need of a new sound. After two decades the classic roundtable, the show was looking for a more modern theme. Flavorlab Score composed the new opener. The theme needed to showcase the big personality, big emotion, and big fun of the ABC standard. The composers balanced the attitude of the show with a cool, contemporary dance feel. As with any theme, the objective is to hype the oncoming content. In the end, the track does what it’s meant to: gets the audience up on their feet and dancing!
Opening with a shot of the audience applauding, the team wanted a feel good, group sound. Above the rising synths, warm drum machine, and the uptempo electric guitar soars a shout chorus. Adding to the hype, the track is accented with hand clapping and a poppy brass section. The series looked to revitalize as it crossed into its third decade. The decision to reimagine the theme came in 2017, right around its 20th anniversary. Our composers could be prouder to continue this fun and bright legacy!
