In 2018, Railsplitter and Karga 7 Pictures came to Flavorlab looking for music for Chicken Soup For The Soul‘s show, Being Dad. Executive Producers, Matt Ginsburg and Tim Healy, from Railsplitter worked with our exclusive music licensing catalogue, Producer’s Toolbox. Our licensing team provided a blanket license, resulting in over 200 tracks being used for the series. The show follows nine dads, each with different family structures, backgrounds, and jobs, around the United States as they navigate the joys and challenges of fatherhood.
The show follows nine dads, each with different family structures, backgrounds, and jobs, around the United States as they navigate the joys and challenges of fatherhood. Viewers get an in depth look at their day to day lives and their relationships with their children. Looking for a wholesome, warm, and often acoustic sound for the show, much of our music matched the content perfectly. Our tracks ended up covering about 70% of the total series run time. The show contains eight episodes, each roughly 40 minutes long, featuring, on average, 28 minutes of music from the Producer’s Toolbox catalogue. Railsplitter signed the series to Netflix and it premiered August 28th, 2018.
