Ruben Santiago-Hudson returns to Broadway with the Manhattan Theatre Club to debut Lackawanna Blues. Producer’s Toolbox got in on its premiere with music licensing for the promo. The spot, created by advertising agency, Serino Coyne, features GE Music track “The National” underscoring the Tony award winner inviting us to his solo play.
The one man show is the story of Santiago-Hudson’s upbringing in 1950s Buffalo. He takes us through his time living in the boarding house of Miss Rachel, or Nanny, who opened her doors to those in need of care. Playing twenty vibrant characters, he’s backed by live music written by acclaimed composer, Bill Sims, Jr., and performed by Blues Hall of Fame Guitarist, Junior Mack.
Performances begin September 14th, 2021, at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.
Opening night is September 28th, 2021.
