PBS KIDS Station Identity and First Interactive Video Game
Project
Compose original score and create sound design for Kart Kingdom, an interactive game created by PBS KIDS.
Goals & Process
For two years, Flavorlab Score created national and local system cues and IDs for PBS Kids. This unique opportunity evolved that work. The idea came from Senior Creative Director, Matthew Kennedy. He developed a house band of wacky musicians to create the System IDs. The idea was so successful, it ultimately became the musical force behind Kart Kingdom.
Under Kennedy’s superb direction, our motley crew jammed to a unique, quirky mix of musical styles and grooves. It was anything but traditional! They played along to Kart Kingdom’s interactive world. The team scored it with big, sudden changes, unexpected twists and turns, and of course, a whole lotta laughs!
Results
Flavorlab Score created a kaleidoscopic musical score and the entire sound design for this groundbreaking interactive game. PBS Kids’ Director of Products, Scott Cummings, Production Associate, Jennifer Chen and the entire team were thrilled with the results. Working with Matthew Kennedy was simply amazing. The project was a true collaboration every step of the way. It was a privilege to help him fulfill his brilliant creative vision!
