Alessandro Altman, a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, was born and bred in San Francisco, California. From a young age he became invested in music as an instrumentalist starting with the trumpet and eventually picking up both the guitar and piano. While acquiring these musical skills, Alessandro developed a love for jazz and other jazz-inspired genres such as funk. He decided to combine his acquired instrumentalist abilities with his musical interests by participating in a funk band throughout high school.
Alessandro discovered his ability to learn music through playing and performing. It was this realization that eventually led him to develop an interest in composition and a passion for production. As his skill set grew, his musical tastes expanded as well, and he became newly stimulated by disco and house music. Currently, Alessandro identifies as a music producer and is pursuing a Bachelors of Arts in Music Technology at New York University.
Upon first arriving in New York, Alessandro hoped to become a part of the growing EDM culture by finding his specific niche within the scene. This became a reality when he entered a remix contest with fellow classmate and friend, Kaito Hara, that spurred the creative partnership known as Apollo22. This EDM production team has been together for two years now and plays live sets throughout the city.
When he’s not taking on the EDM world by storm or advancing his skills in the studios at NYU, Alessandro does significant film scoring and sound editing on a number of projects for his current internship at Harbor Picture Company. As a contributing composer to the Producer’s Toolbox, Alessandro has placed tracks on MTV’s Girl Code and Guy Code.
