Veronica Beard’s American Idles campaign featuring Monna Bell’s “Tómbola”
Project
Veronica Beard hired production company, 360PM, for their American Idles campaign. The spot features a woman arriving home after a night out. She plays her favorite song and goes for a swim. Short, fun, and flirty for the carefree looks of summer. Producer’s Toolbox provided music supervision for the project.
Goals & Process
Initially, the Veronica Beard team wanted a darker sound. Their references were full of swagger, often salsa crossover tracks from the 70s and 80s. The search began there. The brief asked for swaggery retro tracks with female vocals. The team expanded their search when much of what they found seemed too slow for the cut. The original references came at too steep a price and the alternatives, while sexy and bold, lacked lightness.
Circling back to the salsa sound, female vocals remained a priority, but decade of origin expanded. Through contacts at WMG and Warner Chappell Music, the team found Monna Bell’s “Tómbola”.

Result
With master and publishing available for clearance through Warner, the search was over. The spot was featured on all social platforms for Veronica Beard.
